Akwaaba (Welcome)

The Divinely enshrined 2012 Akwamuman Homecoming Reunion is rooted in a vision of a reunification of sons and daughters of Akwamuman both at home and abroad. In addition to its Divine source of inspiration the vision has also received the blessings of those noble Ancestors who came before us. It is a vision guiding the ongoing effort to rebuild Akwamuman and open up the area for investment and socio-economic development. The newly enstooled Paramount Chief of Akwamu State, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III has resolved to rekindle the historic cultural, political and spiritual bond that exist among the kith and kin of Akwamuman around Ghana and in other parts of the world. It is a vision inspired by the recognition that it is only through unity, peace hard work and unwavering commitment that the Reawaking of Akwamu will become a reality and foster a quantum leap towards socio-economic development. A SPEECH BY ODENEHO KWAFO AKOTO III, AKWAMUMANHENE AT THE AKWAMUMAN HOME COMING REUNION DURBAR AT AKWAMUFIEON NOVEMBER 10, 2012
First and foremost I am grateful to the Divine Creator (for touching the hearts of the good people of Akwamuman to pave the way for my enstoolment as the Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III. (While it is God who enstools, He does so through the will of the people). Any human effort for the selection of a leader is not devoid of challenges and bitter struggle, but when the Divine hands of God guide the process, ultimately a temporary bitter process leads to a better future for all. This is my prayer and I am sure the prayer of the thousands of Akwamumma and friends of Akwamuman everywhere.
